The DesignLights Consortium (DLC) today announced its Executive Director and CEO Christina Halfpenny has been named to the 2021 Environment+Energy Leader 100, an annual list that celebrates the achievements of environment and energy “doers” in the fields of commercial and industrial environment and energy management.

Since 2015, Halfpenny has grown the DLC, a former project of Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships, into an independent, international non-profit that drives energy efficient and connected lighting solutions across North America. Under her leadership, the DLC continually hones the efficacy and quality requirements manufacturers must meet to include their products on the DLC’s Qualified Products Lists for solid-state and horticultural lighting and networked lighting controls – resources that scores of utilities across the US and Canada reference in designing energy efficiency incentive programs for commercial and industrial customers. As Executive Director and CEO, she drives the DLC’s success through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, and continuous improvement of business systems.

“The Honorees on the annual list show groundbreaking work and dedication to the field of sustainability and energy management,” said Paul Nastu, President of Environment+Energy  Leader. “We’re thrilled to recognize this year’s Honorees and congratulate all who made the list.”

“I’m honored to be recognized by E+E and inspired by the work of the other Honorees to transform our buildings and our energy systems and improve our global environment,” Halfpenny said.

Now in its fifth year, the annual Environment+Energy Leader 100 recognizes those environment and energy “doers” who break trail in creating new solutions, programs, platforms, best practices and products to help their companies – or other companies – achieve greater success in commercial and industrial environment and energy management. And it doesn’t just celebrate the C-suite, but also those top managers and in-the-trenches team members who are working diligently behind the scenes and shaping the industry. Nominations are open to the public and the final honoree list is selected by Environment+Energy Leader.

About

Kicking-off its sixth year in 2022, the Environment+Energy 100 (E+E100) program honors leaders, VPs, directors, managers and engineers who are driving their companies – and the environmental and sustainability management industry itself – forward. They’re the ones with the ideas and the ones making things happen.

Eligibility

Whose light shines the brightest? Nominate an industry colleague who stands out as an innovator, someone who has helped drive a product, program, company or the industry as a whole. Nominations are welcome from commercial and industrial companies, government officials, NGOs and vendor companies. And we’re not looking only for C-suite nominations–consider nominating the top managers and in-the-trenches workers, those folks working diligently behind the scenes and shaping the industry.
