If there are any positives to come out of the pandemic, refurbishment of airport transit spaces is definitely one.  Elektra has been busy working on many projects including Hilton London Heathrow Airport.  A public area refurbishment and renewal which includes the main atrium space, bar, café and restaurant. The restaurant is one of the first from the new Oxbo brand from Hilton and the interior design (from HBA) is perfectly complimented by the lighting design from Elektra. The reception desk has a new bespoke chandelier in gold finish, but the attention is drawn to the textured feature wall. Although this desk is in a 5-level atrium, the careful use of lighting drags attention down to a human scale to provide a more personal welcome.

“Atriums are always interesting to light; here we decided to avoid filling the space with light and instead bouncing light off the trees and sculpture; coupled with adjustable spotlights to the green canopy.” says Neil Knowles, Director, Elektra.
