At TiL 2019 the key themes presented by Keith Bradshaw were the dynamic use of light on projects, and harnessing the concept that the nature of light is a source of change.  Keith presented the idea of recording light using video as a dynamic source of inspiration instead of static photographs, to illustrate different design needs over time. Keith demonstrated the Speirs + Major immersive approach of fully considering all aspects of  the space before design ideas can flow. Factors including; longevity, people, day, night, weather, shadow, energy footprint all inform the process. This approach generates truly unique schemes that are not static and give the projects life. The team use scale project models to really design with longevity in mind, one example is the consideration of the dominance of surrounding trees and how this growth impacts the outdoor scheme.  These methods have created breathtaking dynamic schemes that are standing the test of time.
